TV Smashers

The purpose of this PTO program is to encourage both children and parents to find alternative activities in place of watching TV, playing video games and using the computer for non-research type activities.  Students are to refrain from watching all TV, except for news or educational programs.  This event runs for a one-week period and prizes are awarded to each child who successfully completes the program.  Volunteers will help to present one or more evening events, such as a Family Bingo Night.  This event is usually held in the spring. 

The chairperson needs to arrange for program prizes, publicize the program to teachers, parents and students, coordinate evening programs and present awards to all who participate.
