Advocate for Working Parents
The focus of this PTO committee is to address the current issues and concerns of working parents. This group periodically meets to discuss topics such as:
Inadequate before and after school child care. Long Hill Township's current program is inadequate due to limited space and long waiting lists. Appropriate options need to be addressed.
Difficulties that arise for working parents due to both scheduled and unscheduled school closings, delayed openings and early dismissals.
The primary responsibility of the chairperson is to schedule committee meetings, issue tracking and follow-up, and establishing a working relationship with the after care program representatives. Other responsibilities may include making presentations to the PTO, the school administration and members of the community regarding these and other relevant issues.
